New Title: QUITTER
I say that the first person to "quit" a group should earn a nice little quitter tag...
... and every 10 times someone is the first to QUIT a group, they earn another Level/Title of Quitter...
... and this Title is always displayed... No Err 7, or any such legit drop counts against you... just your lame-azz-leaving-your-group-in-the-lurch rage-quits - are on display for all to see...
How many... oh how many groups have burned so many precious hours only to have one quitter start a calvalcade of player exits that simply kill the group...
And how many were monks? Now, I have a monk... so nothing against monks... except that they seem to be the biggest offender... hey, they can always get another group...
No. I say that quitters need to be singled out, identified, tarred and feathered. It's simply too hard to remember character names... but a crappy-azz title would be a nice warning sign.

It wouldn't work. So people would just log out, instead of zone.
And besides, what if you leave a hench group, or after your group finished whatever your came for, in mutural understanding? You can't just go around, branding people, without knowing for sure they deserve it.

sure you can brand these ppl... hench groups wouldn't count... /resign could end any mutual goal achieved... I'm just sayin that players who practice "quitting" should be thus "rewarded"... the details can be worked out.

Yeah fine, if the get /resign to work. But so people will just log out to leave. There is no way to determine who loged out on purpose, or whos computer crashed or something. In the end, if they'd implent such a feature, they will always also hit inocent people.

They could easily implement such a feature. If someone presses log out, or presses the close button, make GW send a signal to the server. You could easily tell who logged off on purpose and who did not. But /resign must be fixed first of course. And, you should only get such a title after leaving a certain number of times, not right away.
It would be nice to spot notorious quiters. But to be fair, the title should disappear again after a certain period of good behaviour.

Sorry, but I dont see how Anet is supposed to be able to automatically tell the difference between a legitimate logout for whatever reason and a rage quitter.
Do you really expect Anet to go through the logs and analyze team conversations (if there were any) to see if somebody (rage) quits or has simply been called away, disconnected, zoned by mutual agreement or whatever else?
I dont think you are being realistic here.

It would be quite easy - instead of the generic message XY has left the game, we would have this message only for log out/ALT-F4 and then a message XY timed out, or something like that. And then maybe implement a punish system for those who left intentionally, if all other members type /punish, they would get a "quitter point".

Yeah right, like thats such a great idea
Quitter points...so if someone gets abused for whatever reason by a party they can be further punished by gaining quitter points? Brilliant plan, we can see how honest and fair players are nowadays by look at the Aspenwood/Jade Quarry issues.
No, lets not. I simply add morons to my ignore list so I can make sure I dont party with them in the future.

The punish system was just an idea, I don't think it would work 100% correctly either. But we should be able to know if a player logged out or timed out.

Sorry, bit of a dumb idea I've quit groups because they have been an absolute shambles of crap players and Leroys, should I be labeled a quitter for leaving a bunch of feckless fools to die alone, I think not.

I doubt ANET is into branding people for quitting.
